Organizational Context and Scope
Under the administrative supervision of the Head of Regional Office in Kupang, in close coordination with the Psychosocial Support Coordinator and Senior MH Adviser in Jakarta for technical matters and under overall supervision of the Head of Sub-Office/Programme Coordination (East of Indonesia Region) in Makassar,N the incumbent will provide support and monitor the implementation of the care and maintenance assistance activities for the irregular migrants in Indonesia.
Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesAssist in the monitoring ofN the Irregular Migrants (IMs)activities and ensure that all basic services (accommodation facilities, basic personal supplies and toiletries, security and medical assistance including psycho-social counselling; provide them what they need such as identification cards, transportation requirements.N Coordinate with the Medical and Psychosocial Social Support teams to ensure that all IMa �s are provided adequate and appropriate medical services, including psychosocial counselling.When required, visit the IMa �s and undertake activities as indicated in the visit activity/work plan prepared in coordination with the supervisor. Prepare and submit reports to supervisor on the activity.N When required, provide counselling to IMa �s on their options to enable them to make informed decisions in relation to continued stay in Indonesia or voluntary return to country of origin.N Coordinate with local authorities on IM activities in the area of responsibility.N Coordinate changes on the IMa �s status with supervisor and colleagues within the unit. Coordinate with the supervisor and colleagues handling resettlement and voluntary repatriation on IM movements to ensure accurate and updated IM statistics.Escort IMa �s on the movement.N Provide assistance in the ticketing requirements of the Jakarta office. Maintain a database for ticketing.Serve as procurement focal point for weekly and monthly supplies to the Detention Centre.Work closely with Social Works to ensure a tailored psychosocial program activities for the irregular migrants (IMs) and ensure that the implementation of social, religious and educational/vocational activities and the like, are culturally appropriate and fully respects the confidentiality of the information on migrants.Ensure presence in IMs communities through regular visits to detention centres, temporary settlement areas to collect information on the conditions faced by IMs including the availability of humanitarian assistance (shelter, food, water/sanitation, health and education) and access to services by different segments of IMs populations.Actively engage the IMs in the development of psychosocial activities and use available resources within the target population. Encourage migrants to provide assistance to their own community members by sharing their own knowledge and skills to influence the decision making process affecting their daily living situations.Provide basic counselling and implementation of psychosocial activities where needed, possible and appropriate in a scheduled manner including specific educational activities addressing the identified social-health issues.Perform other duties as may be assigned.N HOW TO APPLY
