Mission of Strategic Asia:

Strategic Asia is headquartered in the United Kingdom, with offices in India, Indonesia, and a planned representative office in China. Strategic Asia's mission is to promote cooperation between Asian countries, especially among the largest emerging markets of Asia where many of the most pressing policy and business challenges lie. Strategic Asia works in a variety of fields including food and energy security, regional development and governance reform, investment promotion, foreign policy and trade negotiation, climate change and public private partnerships.

Reports to:
The Business Development Officer will report to the Business Development Manager . S/he will also need to report to Directors, Deputy Directors and the Managing Director.

Job Summary:
The Business Development Officer work involves designing and coordinating the implementation of a number of technical assistance initiatives that require an understanding of the functioning of specific project development facilities. S/he will ensure strong links between technical assistance and investment projects. The position's primary responsibility is for attracting new businesses and investment to the company, retaining existing businesses, and facilitating business expansion. This position provides face to face contact and support for business sectors, as well as manages information gathered from various sources.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:Assist in formulating and articulating a robust set of alternatives for private sector participationLead efforts to create opportunities for business association strengtheningCollaborate with business associations to identify high-impact opportunities for investment and growthCoordinate with the project's business enabling environment team to address legal and regulatory barriers affecting firm-level competitiveness in Indonesia.Supervise, coach, and manage the project's local private sector specialists and short-term expatriate consultantsSet sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets and to follow the set strategy punctuallyManage the proposal development process and maintain the time-lines for the proposal teamsCoordinate with sponsors concerning size, standards, conditions and timing of researchDevelop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussionsMaintain the Business Development databasesSupport marketing activities, including trade shows working group discussions, mailings, etc.Basic areas of knowledge and skills: Initiate marketing strategies and coordinate actions to influence the marketClarify goals and reach agreement maintaining the interests of all partiesProactively develops and improve products and servicesAbility to discuss strategic and sensitive issuesUnderstands clients' needsBuild and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and clientsFluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is a mustQualification:A degree in business administration or related discipline requiredMinimum 2 years of experience in private sector development and implementing economic growth projects or Private Businesses.Experience in establishing market linkages and facilitating sales between large firms and small and medium enterprisesDemonstrable experience applying Seller led approachN Experience in Customer Relationship Management.
Salary and Conditions: Commensurate with experience.
