Save the Children currently implementing Better Literacy for Academic Results (BELAJAR ) Project aims to improve literacy outcomes for 9,400 early primary students (years 1-3) in the Belu District, Nusa Tenggara Timor (NTT) province in Indonesia. The BELAJAR project will work with educators and communities to improve literacy outcomes for early year primary students in Eastern Indonesia.N Save the Children will use its proven and innovative Literacy Boost methodology in 80 schools and benefit an estimated 9,400 students. Students will learn to read independently, using activities to promote reading inside and outside the classroom, which will lead to improved life-long learning.N BELAJAR is a three-year project funded by New Zealand Governmenta �s Aid Program. Currently Save the Children has an immediate need for experienced staff to be part of our BELAJAR project and will be based in Belu, NTT.

The position we are looking for:

Senior Project Officer a � BELAJAR project (code: SPO BELAJAR) a � 1 post, based in Belu, NTT
The Senior Project Officer BELAJAR Project will be responsible for overall project management and implementation of all activities in target schools in Belu, NTT district. S/he will be responsible for the financial, programmatic implementation and monitoring of all project activities, and the development of the project work plan.N S/he will ensure that all activities included in the implementation plan are implemented and literacy outcomes are assessed.N S/he will also produce information to the Jakarta office for programmatic reports.N S/he will report to the District Coordinator and be supported by a small finance and administration team in Belu, NTT.

Job Responsibilities:Together with Technical Assistance from SC US and District Coordinator Education develop 3 years implementation plan of BELAJAR project.Ensure BELAJAR Project activities being implemented with high quality technical according to global best practices.Ensure close collaboration and relationship with local stakeholders (local and national government officials and non-governmental, school, communities, others).Preparation of the Baseline Assessment of BELAJAR project.Validate and adapt training tools from other countries to area (Belu) context and use them to develop a training plan for teachers and communities.Develop an effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting system (including documenting activities) to ensure the effectiveness of project implementation.Facilitating the initial and year-end literacy assessments.Ensure the day to day management and reporting of project financial resources is in accordance with donor regulations and SCI policies and procedures.Ensure timely submission of activity, financial, and monitoring reports in accordance with the Literacy Boost project MdanE framework, donor requirements, and SCI requirements.Ensure that there is close coordination with other Save the Children projects in Belu.Other responsibilities related to BELAJAR project may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.Requirements:
Education: Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field

Skill and Experiences:Minimum 4 years total work experience with non-government organizations, with at least 2 years experience in managing education projects with International NGOs.Good of knowledge and skills in methods to promote improvements in early grade primary education.Proven skills of self accountable in making decisions, innovative solutions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role model values.Proven track of satisfaction goals achievement for the projects assigned.Proven skills on building, improving, maintainingN effective working capacity and relationships, within team, colleagues, Members and external partners and supporters with future orientated, thinks strategically and on a global scale.Proven ability to manage financial resources according to donor and organization regulations and reporting requirementsProven ability to manage financial resources according to donor and organization regulations and reporting requirements.Having values of diversity, honestly, transparency and integrity.Good English and Indonesian language skills a � both verbal and written, including writing high quality reports and presentation skills in English and Indonesia language.Capable to work and lead effectively as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.Ability to work in a team/independently.Excellent computer literate.Updated CV and application letter should be sent to Recruitment.Indonesia--at--savethechildren.org a �subjecta t column of the e-mails in this format: code of the position - your name .
