Jhpiego/Indonesia is currently implementing the USAID-funded EMAS ( Expanding Maternal dan Newborn Survival ) program. N N We are currently recruiting a Maternal Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) Senior Liaison Officer to be based in Jakarta.

The USAID MCHN Liaison officera �s main role is to facilitate the relationship between USAID and the Ministry of Health around matters related to maternal and child health and nutrition, and related services at health facilities.N The liaison officer would also be responsible for engaging with MenkoKesra and other key Ministries on MCH issues as needed. Of particular strategic importance to USAID is supporting the government of Indonesia to reach its goals for maternal mortality, newborn mortality, infant nutrition, and quality of care standards for puskesmas and hospitals related to maternal and child health and nutrition (MCHN).

This position will be based in the Ministry of Health, under the Secretary General, and will work with the Directorate of Maternal Health, Child Health, and Nutrition, as well as the DirectorateN Bina Upaya Kesehatan (BUK), Center for Data and Information (PUSDATIN), and the center for communication (PUSKOMLIK) within the Ministry of Health as well as Menkokesra as needed. The incumbent will be expected to know and understand USAIDa �s programs in maternal and child health and nutrition and represent them to the relevant ministries of the GOI on a daily basis. The incumbent will report to the Secretary General in the MOH and the Health Office Director at USAID. S/he will communicate and report regularly directly to the Health Office Director at USAID.. The incumbent is expected to arrange a schedule in which 3-4 days of a 5-day work week are spent at the MOH, and 1-2 days are spent with USAID, as needed or required. Attendance at all key meetings in
which donors are invited will also be important, including those outside of Jakarta.

This position will be hired and administered by Jhpiego.N Reporting to Jhpiego will be limited to meeting on personnel and administrative matters, as well as providing information for inclusion in quarterly and annual reports.

DUTIES dan RESPONSIBILITIES :Work closely with the Directors and DGs of KIA Gizi and Bina Upaya Kesehatan (BUK), as well as other relevant offices on issues aligned with USAID MCHN Programming and strategic interests.Assist the Sekjen in coordinating meetings and communication between directors as needed/appropriate.Facilitate communication related to USAID programs to Ministry staff and broker requests for information or meetings from the Ministry to USAID or vice versa.Work with the focal point forN EMAS coordination (currently Ibu Kirana) to organize EMAS working group meetings, and toN organize MDG 4dan5 Donor working group meetingsAssist with and/or join as a participant in any joint or collaborative meetings between USAID and the MOH and/or Menkokesra as appropriate to ensure appropriate content and understanding on both sides.N Support and facilitate communication and relationships between USAID funded programs, especially EMAS,and the Ministry of Health as needed.Stay informed on relevant assessments, evaluations, or studies being funded by donors, private foundations, private sector or others related to MCH.N Stay informed on Global, regional and Indonesian MCH and nutrition-related data.N Share information and/or present analyses to the GOI and USAID as needed to support evidence-based policy decisions as well as informed program and strategy decisions.Participate in Ministry meetings and conferences as appropriate and as required to fulfill the duties of the position.Other wise facilitate and support the relationships between USAID and the Ministries related to maternal and child health and nutrition as needs and opportunities are identified.Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes: Public Health degree, and 15 years of experience in public health in Indonesia, at least five of which should be with Ministry of Health and/or Menkokesra.Member in good standing of a recognized health professional association such as IBI, IDI, POGI, INNA, Perinasia or PERSI.Has or can develop a thorough understanding of the USAID organization and its programs. Experience with international USAID or other international donors is preferred.Has experience with MCH data a � either through research, monitoring and evaluation, or other high-level analysis a � preference to those who have experience or training outside of Indonesia in this regard.
