About the position
NRM Tool Developer will work closely with a team of ecologist, land use planning specialist, economist, modeller and social scientist to develop sets of modular application for Land Use Planning for Multiple Environmental Services (LUMENS). He/she will lead a team of programmers to design, build, test and document the process of LUMENS development, under a close collaboration with relevant scientists and other potential users.N The primary
duties and responsibilities are :Work closely with a team of researchers to conceptualize and design modular application for informed, inclusive and integrative land use planning for multiple environmental services such as carbon, hydrology and biodiversity.Interpret the concept and design of LUMENS into an implementable framework and architecture for application/ software development.N Develop LUMENS application with some supports from consultants, whenever necessaryDesign proper testing of the application and implement quality assessment/ quality control of the applicationDocument the development process of LUMENS and facilitate the translation to languages other than EnglishDevelop user manual of LUMENSWork closely with ecologist and land use planning specialist to develop training materials for LUMENSEnsure timely development of the application to achieve project target as mandated by relevant bilateral project(s) and/or CRP component(s) within ICRAFSupport the web development and maintenance of bilateral projects concerning LUMENSTechnical backstopping to partners and users of LUMENSLink relevant activities on LUMENS with on-going activities on models/tools development in Ecological Modelling Unit For a detailed Job Description please visit //worldagroforestry.org/about_us/careersRequirementsMinimum BSc degree in computer programming or information and technologyVast and strong knowledge on programming language such as Java, Phyton or C Strong knowledge on open source softwareStrong programming and analytical skillsGood communication skills and N competence in developing user interfaceN Knowledge of NRM, geographical information system, statistic and ecological modellingMore than 5 years experience as programmer or related position in international or reputable organizationsCompetent and experience in computer application developmentExperience in working with not-for-profit organizations and government institutions.Personal CompetenciesWell organized; able to meet deadlineHaving good command of English and Bahasa IndonesiaWilling to learn new skills/knowledge related to the scope/content of the specified projects.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in multi-cultural teams.Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skillsConceptualizes and analyzes problems to identify key issues, underlying problems, and how they relateGenerates creative, practical approaches to overcome challenging situationsTerms of offer
