Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response and now Save the Children will target seven communities with no Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services in the Permata sub-district of the Bener Meriah district to establish community-based and supported ECCE services.N This one year project, the Basic Initiative for School Access (BISA) project will target children aged 3-6 years old with diverse learning activities focusing on social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development and also focus on cognitive skills with older (5-6 years old) children including pre-reading and pre-numeracy activities.N The objective for these activities will be to increase school readiness for these older children who will enter primary school grade one at age 6 or 7.N All activities will follow international good practices and our experience in Indonesia and Aceh. Currently Save the Children has an immediate need for experienced staffs to be part of our BISA project team and will be based in Bener Meriah, Aceh.
The position we are looking for are:
1. Project Officer a � BISA project (code: PO BISA) a � 1 post, based in Bener Meriah
The Project Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and be supported by a Project Assistant, small finance and administration team in Bener Meriah. She/he will be responsible for supporting overall project management and implementation of all activities in 7 ECCD in Bener Meriah, Aceh Province. Also for the financial, programmatic implementation and monitoring of all project activities, and the development of the project work plan and ensure that all activities included in the implementation plan are implemented and literacy outcomes are assessed.
Job Responsibilities:Assist the Project Coordinator in establishing the target BISA project detailed implementation plan.Ensure Target BISA project activities in Bener Meriah district are implemented according to the detailed implementation plan including leading the technical implementation of the project in the field.With input from outside technical experts, ensure high quality technical implementation of all project interventions according to global best practices, and lessons learned from SC programming in Indonesia and globally.N Special emphasis will be placed on coordinating with Save the Children outside technical experts who will support BISA project.Ensure close collaboration with local stakeholders including establishing and developing strong and effective relationships with key district government officials and non-governmental stakeholders.N This will include collaborating with the local government on school selection, coordinating teacher training, reporting, and project public events such as results dissemination.N It will also include mobilizing communities in support of this project.Work with Save the Children technical experts to validate and adapt training tools from other countries to the Bener Meriah context and use them to develop a training plan for teachers and communities.Together with the Program Assistant develop an effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting system (including documenting activities) to ensure the effectiveness of project implementation.N This will include facilitating the baseline and end line project.Ensure the day to day management and reporting of project financial resources is in accordance with donor regulations and SCI policies and procedures.Ensure timely submission of activity, financial, and monitoring reports in accordance with the Literacy Boost project MdanE framework, donor requirements, and SCI requirements.Ensure that there is close coordination with other Save the Children projects in Bener Meriah district.Specific Requirements:
Skill and Experiences:Minimum 3 years total work experience with non-government organizations, with at least 2 years experience in managing education program in (I)NGO.Excellent understanding of the Indonesia education system.Proven skills to develop an implementation plan and then efficiently implement activities to achieve intended objectives.Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents in Indonesian and English.Proven capacity for training and supervising local NGO(s).Proven ability to manage financial resources according to donor and organization regulations and reporting requirements.Excellent inter-personal, negotiation and communication skills in English and Indonesia language with stakeholders, school, government, private sectors, community.Good English and Indonesian language skills a � both verbal and written, including writing reports and presentation skills in English and Indonesia language.2. Project Assistant a � BISA project (code: PA a � BISA) a � 1 post, based in Bener Meriah
She/he will work under Program Officer BISA project to contribute to effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of BISA project implementation The post holder will responsible for supporting all BISA project in compliance with all financial dan administration policies, procurement procedures and accounting control.
Job Responsibilities:Assist the Project Officer in financial dan administration of all BISA project detailed implementation plan.Establish and maintain files of incoming and outgoing communication, program documents such as monitoring dan evaluation reports, training and materials.Ensure the day to day management and reporting of projectN in accordance with SCI policies and procedures.Supporting Project Officer regarding timely submission of all BISA project activities and monitoring reports with MdanE framework, and SCI requirements.Arrangement and set up meetings with Government, partners and other relevant parties including facilitating the baseline and end line project.Provide logistical support for workshops, training and conferences including planning, minutes and follow-up.Maintain library of BISA project reference documents, files, etc.Familiar with English and Indonesian language skills a � both verbal and written, including writing reports and presentation skills in English and Indonesia language.Specific Requirements:
Skill and Experiences:Minimum 2 years total work experience with non-government organizations, with at least 1 years experience in managing education program in (I)NGO.Good understanding of the Indonesia education system.General knowledge of project implementation efficiently system align with objectives.Proven capacity for facilitating training and other related project meetings.Good inter-personal and communication skills in English and Indonesia language with stakeholders, school, government, private sectors, community.General Requirements for all position:
Education: Bachelor University Degree in Social work and/or relevant discipline.
