VSO is a development organization that has been working through volunteers to fight poverty for more than fifty years and we are the leading organization in the field. We work in almost 50 countries and we are constantly exploring new ways to use the time, energy and skills of people to make a difference. VSO is looking for a country director to help us continue our work. This is your chance to play a decisive role in shaping our programme in Indonesia.
Wea �ll look to you to lead our programme in Indonesia, implementing and maximizing the impact of VSOa �s contribution to combating poverty and disadvantage in the country during a period of change and growth.N This will involve not only developing new relationships with strategic partners to contribute to VSOa �s goals, but also supporting our volunteers and managing our people, as well as taking responsibility for the financial and resource management and legal compliance.N In addition to your strategic impact you will work to raise the profile of VSO, networking with government agencies, donors and other international agencies, championing our values and vision at all times.
An experienced senior manager, youa �ll almost certainly have prior experience of managing development or humanitarian programmes at a senior management level successfully, and be able to use your excellent leadership, negotiation and relationship building skills to implement VSO's new strategy and development initiatives. Your experience of project-management will be key to your success in planning, resourcing and implementing our innovative programme. Experience securing external funding and contracts is essential.
The role will require substantial travel within Indonesia.N As well as a competitive salary, the package includes comprehensive health and pension benefits.
