The Nature Conservancy is a conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.

Currently we are searching for a qualified candidate to fill the position of:

NATURAL RESOURCES (NR) PLANNING MANAGER

The Natural Resources Planning Manager is responsible for the overall design, coordination and implementation of a comprehensive natural resource planning program within TNCa �s Indonesia Forest Program. S/he uses the full range of land use planning, economic development planning dan conservation planning tools and works through collaboration with national, provincial, and district government, conservation organizations and other partners as appropriate. The program manager works closely and coordinates with a wide variety of Nature Conservancy staff, private individuals, and corporations in support of conservation goals. S/he is an expert in spatial planning, development planning dan conservation techniques and advises the natural resource management planning staff and government partners on the application of these tools. S/he serves as the principle contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations and academic community. S/he may play a leading role in donor identification, cultivation and stewardship for the program. Disseminates best practices, provides training and analyses to best implement organizational measures of success, and develops key partnerships.

This may include one or more of the following functions:Establishes the Conservancy as a major conservation partner within area of responsibilityDefines conservation priorities in the area of responsibilityLeads and manages team which supports and improves conservation effortsBuilds strategic, scientific, and technical capacity in the fieldDevelops key partnerships with public dan private organizations in order to identify and resolve technical issues and to widely communicate solutions and best practicesDevelops innovative scientific methods, analyses, tools, and frameworks to address the natural system needsEngages local community support for local conservation effortsNegotiates complex and innovative solutions with government agencies and landowners to conserve and protect natural communitiesDevelops and implements conservation strategiesThe Natural Resources Planning Manager will report directly to the Director of TNC Indonesia Terrestrial Program.
Basic Qualifications:BA/BS degree and 7-10 yearsa � experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated experience influencing, developing and implementing conservation policy and plansKnowledge of current trends and practices in relevant discipline(s), such as climate changeDeveloping practical applications of scientific concepts and technical innovations for conservation purposesKnowledge of methods and standards of biodiversity information systems and initiativesMotivating team members, setting goals, and leading effortsKnowledge of politics and society with respect to environmental affairsManaging time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality resultsCommunicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languagesDemonstrated experience in fundraisingSuccessful experience in developing, directing and managing multiple projectsDemonstrated success as an inspirational manager who has successfully motivated staff to achieve and sustain excellenceDemonstrated leadership and visionary qualities and able to work effectively with and through others in a decentralized and geographically dispersed organizationSuccessful experience in partnership development (partners, community, government, etc.) including extensive networking with high-level conservation contacts; political savvyProven interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skillsPlease send your CV and application form to recruitment.indo--at--tnc.org, not later than February 21st, 2013.
