Statement of work (SOW)
General description

Under the supervision of the Director of Programming dan Training (DPT), the Training Director (TD) coordinates all aspects of planning and implementation of a 10 week Pre-Service Training for approximately 55 trainees, while training and mentoring new and existing full-time Indonesian staff, including a Training Manager,N Technical Training Coordinator (TTC) ,Training and Evaluation Assistant (TEA), as well as a temporary TEFL Technical Trainer (TT) from another Peace Corps post, and contractors which provide language instruction, cultural facilitation, and logistics support.N N This position is a temporary position, and as the responsibilities described below will become the permanent TMa �s responsibilities, it is imperative the TD be an effective coach with strong cross-cultural skills, in addition to having significant experience managing Peace Corps Pre-Service Programs.

The TD will also work with Posta �s four Regional Managers (RM) to assure the success of the training program in preparing Volunteers to successfully fulfill the goals of the Project Plan and integrate into their communities.N The TD will also collaborate closely with the Director of Management and Operations (DMO) to establish sufficient funding and support for training activities and to ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Peace Corps policies.

PST Design and Implementation Duties Manages PST related information, meetings, visits, briefings, site visits and documentation.Works with all PdanT staff to develop a realistic and creative training strategy and Calendar of Training Events (COTE) for PST.N Coordinates and delivers the orientation and training process for contractors needed to conduct training events.N Selects and prepares training sites for PSTs.N Prepares, submits, and distributes all required reports on training activities and evaluation.Works with RMs and DPT to ensure the participation of appropriate host agency personnel and other in-country resource people for all training events.Volunteer/Trainee Support and Assessment DutiesProvides PCVs with guidance on a group and individual basis, through positive leadership, direct technical assistance, and consultation.Ensures the development and implementation of a trainee assessment process for all training events.N Recommends to Country Director (CD) Trainees to be sworn-in as Volunteers as well as any to be de-selected.Administrative DutiesDevelops training budgets and manages and reviews expenditures to ensure that they do not exceed the established budgetary constraints.Arranges procurement for materials and services needed to conduct trainings.N Analyzes and prepares reports on training and activities, and other data as requested by other Peace Corps staff and host country officials.Other Performs other duties as assigned according to Peace Corps Indonesiaa �s needs.Safety and security support Per Peace Corps Manual Section 270, all members of the Peace Corps staff must be familiar with the Emergency Action Plan and their responsibilities in the event of an emergency.Ensures safety and security competencies are incorporated and actively integrated in PST and IST programs.N Evaluates and documents effectiveness of training, including PCV/T progress on safety and security competencies.N Working with CD, DPT, relevant APCDs/PMs, and SSC, develops, assesses and redesigns competencies and training sessions as required.N Ensures that safety and security systems for pre-service training are in place, including evaluation of homestay sites and the orientation of host families. Provides training to trainers and other staff, practicum partners, local officials, and PCTs, regarding their roles and responsibilities related to PCV/T safety and security. Acts as duty officer, as needed.N Knowledgeable and supportive of Peace Corps safety and security policies and procedures, including the timely reporting of suspicious incidents, persons or articles.Level and effortPerforms duties at assigned Post during a 48 hour work week.N N N May be required to work outside of or in addition to normally scheduled hours to support PCVs and fulfill other post requirements.Will be required to live at training site for duration of contract.Occasional Money holder The PSC may be required to courier cash and/or purchase orders to various vendors who furnish supplies and/or services to PST/IST training site, or other locations as directed by the Contracting Officer. The PSC may also be required to courier cash to PC trainees or volunteers. The PSC will not be functioning as a procurement or disbursing official but will only be acting as an intermediary between the Contracting or Disbursing Officer and the recipient. In the case ofN dealing with vendors, the PSC will not exercise any procurement discretion concerning the supplies or services to be purchased or the cost limits of these purchases; these will be determined by the Contracting Officer.Work experience requirements and qualifications
Experience:Desired to have significant experience managing Pre-Service Trainings for Peace Corps posts.Languages:Oral and written fluency in English required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to design implement and evaluate trainingSkill as a trainer, teacher, facilitator, and mentor in a cross-cultural settingN Skill and ability to deal with personnel management issues: recruitment, training, evaluation, and development of a teamN Ability to use computer word processing equipmentN Ability to prepare basic accounting and voucher documentsN Diplomacy and tact with staff, Volunteers, Trainees, community members and members of governmentEducation Requirements University/college degree required, preferably in English Education or International Development.HOW TO APPLY
