Background
SNV is an international not-for-profit development organization that works in 35 of the poorest countries around the world covering water and sanitation, agriculture and energy. SNVa �s small scale domestic biogas program has benefitted the lives of over 2 million people worldwide.SNV is currently looking to establish a presence in Indonesia and is undertaking preparatory work. With the financial support of EEP Indonesia and SNV, we will be conducting a pilot project with local partners to examine the potential of Medium Scale Biogas Project in Central Kalimantan.
10 medium size digesters will be constructed at community cattle sheds with the gas produced distributed to nearby households for cooking and lighting.N We are now seeking a Biogas Technical Consultant who can manage the technical and quality management components of this project. This position will work under the guidance of SNVa �s Senior Renewable Energy Advisor and works closely with local construction partners and government authorities. ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing new biogas model for this projectAssist in identification of appropriate construction sitesAssist on developing construction manuals and training manualsProvide technical training to local masons and supervisorsTake the responsibility for maintainingN N high quality biogas plant construction standards Monitor the construction and functioning of plants regularly Provide regular feedback and advice to partners and masons onN N technical improvements Arrange user trainingN N on operation and maintenance Assist in developing digester operation system Coordinate with local government, local communities and local partner on biogas construction Carry any other assignment as and when required Duty Station: Central Kalimantan or Jakarta with frequent travel to Central Kalimantan Candidate Profile Bachelor #39;s Degree inN N civil engineering (Master #39;s DegreeN N in Civil Engineering is preferable)At least five years of experience workingN N in civil construction, quality control, product development, supervision,N N training or similar roles Able to be based in the field or make frequent field visits Good writing and verbalN N skills in English and BahasaN N Indonesia Good training andN N communication / human relation skills Biogas experienceN N (desired)Willingness to learnN N and contribute with innovative ideas Contract Duration: A one-year consultancy contract will be offered through SNVa �s Vietnam office. This consultancy is subject to final approval by the donor.N
