BACKGROUND

Building coastal resilience to reduce climate change impact in Thailand and Indonesia (BCR CC) is a three-year project in Sulawesi/ Indonesia and Southern Thailand, implemented by CARE Deutschland-Luxemburg with Raks Thai Foundation and CARE International Indonesia and financed by the European Union.
The BCR CC project started on the first of February 2011 for the period of 36 months. The project aims for an increased resilience of coastal government authorities and civil society organizations in Indonesia especially in the districts of Bone, Wajo, Luwu and Luwu Utara in Southern Sulawesi.
CARE International in Indonesia (CII) in consultation with partner organizations, academic institutions and local NGOs has developed a set of instruments for Climate Change Adaptation and inclusion of climate change aspects into local planning and implementation.
Regarding on these above, and to develop process of BCR CC report, CII seekingthe service of a consultant with the required high-level capacity to undertake these translations in an efficient and swift manner. The translators also have a good understanding on the context of climate change and environment as well as ensure capacity development in write reporting.
Therefore CII need to be hire translator consultant to support the activities of BCR CC narrative report for 21 days work.N For texts translation the assignment will be carried out with virtualand work will be submitted (back and forth) via surat elektronik [surel/email].

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

CARE International Indonesia (CII) in Palopo Southern Sulawesi needs the services of translator to translate texts from English into Indonesia (or vise versa) with duties and responsibilities : To support, services and perform for CARE - BCR CC related the documents of BCR CC report.To provide translator in documents report in relation with process, minutes and narrative of BCRCC documents from English into Bahasa. (or vise versa as needed)N To ensure the timely delivery of translated materials from EnglishN N into Bahasa Indonesia (or vice versa as needed).DURATION

The translator consultant would be for a period of 3 (three) week, commencing on the January 27th, 2013 finishing on the February 16th, 2013. N N

QUALIFICATIONSProfessionalism: Good English and Indonesia writing skills; proven experience in translation work, good translation skills with capacity to detect and understand nuances in the original text; knowledge of agreed terms for International Non Government organizations and development concepts; ability to use all sources of reference.Planning and Organizing: Ability to establish priorities, plan, coordinate and monitor own work and to deliver paper work on time within agreed deadlines.Teamwork: Candidates must good coordination with others to ensure consistency of terminology and style;Communication: Candidates must good interpersonal and communication skills.Technological Awareness: Candidate must experience in using word processing and other computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and internet tools.Work Experience: Candidates must have at least five years experience in translation as well as proven experience in an international organization and multicultural environment organization.Education: Candidates must have a advanced university degree in foreign languages, environment, public policy, economics or other related filed.N N TERMS OF OFFER
