Currently we are searching qualified candidate to fill position of:

COLLABORATIVE FOREST MANAGEMENT (CFM) SPECIALIST

The Collaborative Forest Management (CFM) Specialist designs and implements a CFM initiative in natural forest logging concessions in East Kalimantan. S/he also is responsible to mainstream the CFM concept within the APHI and Ministry of Forest by influencing policy and regulations. Internally, s/he coordinates closely with the Community Development Manager and Improved Forest Management (IFM) Manager as well as with terrestrial senior management team, establishes and maintains partnerships at all levels.N These include the following functions:Develops CFM guidance materials and design support mechanisms for local NGOs to facilitate cooperation between natural forest concessions and local communities.Identifies, assesses, and selects NGOs which will be engaged, in collaboration with TNC Community Development Manager and IFM Manager.Trains NGOs in CFM approach, processes and methods to enable them to facilitate CFM on the ground effectively.Works with local NGOs to facilitate behavior and practice changes within partner concession to implement CFM in collaboration with TNC Community Development Manager and IFM Manager.Maintains relationships with key personnel at all levels within partner organizations.Secures on-going commitment and regulatory support from key actors (esp. APHI, MoFor) to enable CFM program success and mainstreaming.Reports progress against CFM work plan to RAFT2 project lead.Develops ToR and oversee contracts for CMP consultant(s).The CFM Specialist will be based in Berau, East Kalimantan. She/he will report to ITP (Indonesia Terrestrial Program) Improved Forest Management (IFM) Manager.

Requirements:BA/BS degree and 7 - 10 yearsa � experience in natural resource management, social science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability and willingness to apply science to decision-making and guide activities.Ability to communicate and work closely with scientists.Working with media and influential officials, especially governmental, to improve Conservancy programsa � outcomes.Familiarity with principles of collaborative forest management, PRA, social research analysis and survey.Knowledge of social and community development principles.Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management, and natural resource preservation.Experience in training and curriculum design.Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with the public and/or mediaCompleting tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).Managing time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results.Working knowledge of common software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Web browsers).Excellent communication skills via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.Please send your CV and application form to recruitment.indo--at--tnc.org , not later than January 8th, 2013.
