Technical Expert, Electrical Engineering Expansion Project-1203665

Description:
The incumbent will provide assist the General Superintendent, Projects with the integration of rail safety and control system requirements, electrical upgrades and specifications especially as these relate to the Grasberg Block Cave and Common Infrastructure Project rail haulage systems. This position fills a role as a point of focus for activities being carried out on site by Central Services Division.

Additional responsibilities:
1. Direct, communicate, and control the company's safety, health and environmental policies and procedures implementation, including conducting safety meetings in order to promote in all personnel the awareness of safety and environmental issues especially when working in an underground environment where high risks and limited space exists.
2. Conduct site studies for the various projects to ensure that the rail safety and control system scope feasibility assumptions are relevant and achievable.
3. Reconcile the feasibility cost estimates against changing project scopes, equipment and schedules.
4. Ensure that a standardized infrastructure is implemented throughout all new and existing projects. Design must ensure that systems comply with GOI regulations site standards and international best practice; this must carry through the design, installation, integration and operation phases of the associated projects.
5. Work closely with NOLA, PTFI CSE and PJP groups to assure compliance with site specifications and critical path requirements.
6. Work closely with the end-users and the maintenance department to ensure that the types of electrical equipment and systems that are installed are functional and reliable.
7. Provide auditing and commissioning functions for the permanent infrastructure.
8. Provide assistance and appropriate guidance for the program of gaining GOI approval for the use of new technologies in the underground mine environment.

Qualifications:
a Bachelor's (S1) degree in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of ten 6210 fifteen 6215years of proven experience, especially with large scale, world class underground mining operations and the installation of new electrical systems for underground mining applications.
a Familiar with the current state of electrical power transmission and distribution in an underground mine environment. Particularly in the 34.5kV transmission and13.8kV distribution range of voltages.
a Understand the implementation of development and construction plans for new underground mines
a Ability to train/teaching/coach/mentor.
a Computer literacy for diagnostic purpose.
a Experience in working with a cultural diversified workforce.
a Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
a Strong analytical and problem analysis, cost and financial analysis.
a Strong decision making skills.
a Proficient in English both oral and written.
