AMARTA II is a USAID funded program that aims to improve the competitiveness of the value chains of three high-value commodities: Coffee, Cocoa and horticultural crops and to increase the access to credit of small holder farmers in these three sectors.
The project will work extensively with local government, farmers groups, marketing companies, processors, input suppliers and other stakeholders to increase the income of the whole sector and the proportion of income retained by farmers.
Our project and offices are in Medan, Makassar, Bandung, and our National Office is located in Jakarta.
We are currently seeking experienced professionals to fill the Driver based in Medan.
Driver. S/he will be responsible for daily operational ground transport for AMARTA II staffs.N S/he will be an experienced driver and have experience working for donor funded projects such as USAID.N The Driver is expected to know how to navigate roads specific to his/her territory, and to conduct out of town driving when required by the office.Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and good health is essential.N
Tasks and Responsibilities:N N N N N N N Conduct driving services for AMARTA II staff, and record all program as well as personal mileages in a log-book.N The log-book will be reported each month to the Administration Officer for verification.The driver will ensure passenger safety and not drive recklessly on the road.N He/she will maintain the vehiclea �s performance by conducting routine tune-ups, and general cleanliness which include a no smoking policy in AMARTA II vehicles.The driver will maintain the security of the car at all times when it is not being used and manage the renewing of legal vehicle papers and drivera �s license.Perform simple arithmetic to account for gasoline allowances given by the office.Coordinate daily driving schedule with the Administrative Officer.Attend and contribute to the projecta �s periodic administrative as well as program meetings as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: In good health and extensive knowledge of road network in Medan or designated area of assignment.Demonstrated good driver conduct and a valid drivera �s license.Extensive experience in driving a variety of vehicles and able to perform routine maintenance when required.Experience in working with expatriates and foreign consultants.Knowledge and experience in working for USAID projects in relation to documenting mileages and accounting for driver finances.Ability to work independently and as a team.Ability to appreciate international diversity and to establish effective working relationships with international clients.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and other project staff.Qualifications: Senior High School or equivalent.Minimum 2 a � 3 year of experience in an equivalent position.Must hold a valid Indonesia Class-A Drivera �s License.Open, honest and responsible.Punctual and reliable.Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.Ability to create a supportive working environment among all staff.Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.Basic understanding of verbal English an advantage.Duration of assignment is 12 month and starting date immediately.
