Play a part in reducing child deaths from preventable illnesses by supporting a national immunisation program in the areas of data management, monitoring and reporting.N
Background informationN While Timor-Leste has made significant progress in child immunisation, it still has the lowest coverage in South-East Asia. More than 22% of one-year-olds have never received a vaccination, and many infants and children are seriously exposed to preventable illnesses.N Health management consultancy John Snow Inc. is working with the Ministry of Health on a large-scale project to reach unimmunised children in seven Timorese districts. The project will work through district health councils and community health services.N An Australian volunteer is being sought to help monitor and evaluate the program. The volunteer will provide training and support in data management and presentation, documentation and reporting. The role will include regular travel to community health centre catchment areas.
